Do you have a plan to grow your own food after TSHTF? Well if you get a survival seed vault you will be way ahead of others. You will be able to grow up to an acre of food to feed your family. Buy several and use them for barter when the time comes.
Stockpiling food and supplies for your family is the right thing to do. The question is, do you want to share with everyone you know? If people see that you have food, medicines and important tools to get through an emergency situation, where do you think they will head when trouble starts? Suddenly, you have acquaintances and strangers at your door demanding that you share.

The problem is most of us have people in and around the home regularly, or at least occasionally. People notice things. The refrigerator delivery guy might see how much food you have stored in your pantry. Your kid’s friends who run in and out all day might just let their parents know about all that “cool stuff” you have. Instead of completely isolating yourself, be discreet about your stockpile.
A Secret Room could be an ideal answer.
In his book “Secret Rooms Secret Compartments”, Jerry Dzindzeleta demonstrates how to construct secret rooms and secret compartments to act as camouflaging locations “in plain sight”. These rooms can be as sophisticated as a store room right behind a bookcase door. Or they may be a big space underneath the stairway. All are easy to access (for those who know they are there), and totally sensible to use.
The book comes with information and pictures that will help you create your own rooms, including comprehensive directions for hardware that you will need. Granted, you should have some construction skills to construct these rooms, but as a Prepper or Homesteader, you need to have those anyhow.
This is not a fancy book with glossy pictures, Jerry Dzindzeleta self-published it with a comb binding. However, the knowledge it contains makes this book worth every penny. If you are at all interested in maintaining privacy, whether you want to safeguard your Preps or your other valuables, it might be time to start building a Secret Room.
Seeds are Essential to Survival-
Back40 recently began selling their Essential Seed Vault, and we were more than happy to take a look at them, and give an honest review.
I think we were all surprised how substantial the Seed Vault is. You get a #10 can PACKED full
of 16 varieties. You get 22,000 seeds! Reading the list, it looks like a great cross section of varieties was chosen to maximize nutrition, while still giving a delicious variety to the diet. I also love that some of the veggies are quick growing for immediate (within 30 days) harvesting, while others can be harvested later, or continually over the season.
The can contains a great selection of vegetables. Vegetables like beans and tomatoes that can be eaten fresh or canned, versatile squash and carrots that can be cooked into a number of delicious dishes, and Swiss Chard which is LOADED with vitamins!

The seeds look great, not wrinkled and old, and I’m confident that this container could keep them safe for at least 4 years. Including a can or three of the Essential Seed Vault in your stockpile could only be a good idea… to grow your own food AND to use as a barter item!
